Hello dear Friends of CIC!

It is with great pride that another school year will be closing on May 30th with our traditional, beautiful Graduation Ceremony. Our 16 seniors have all been accepted to college… many to their first choice and some with great scholarships. They will be off to continue their studies in the United States, Canada and Italy. This year none of them are staying in Venezuela…..

It has been a great year which included our traditional academic and extra-curricular activities. Many charity organizations were helped out by the school through its student associations: National Honor Society, Community Service, also our Charity Road Race and this year even through the Alumni Association. Our Nature Trail is in full use as an interactive support to all our science classes. This year’s Art Exhibition is outstanding… it is amazing what our students are able to produce in this area. Music and Drama have also given their extraordinary fruit delighting the CIC Community with their presentations.

Our Alumni activities this year were also very intense with the January Fort Lauderdale reunion being a total success: over 170 people attended, including spouses and parents all belonging to the school families from 1960-1993, and also including 2 former CIC Directors and several former teachers. Another Alumni gathering is being organized for students from the 80’s and 90’s next June 14-15 in Orlando, Fl. – it looks like it will be a great one as well. Check out their web page:

All in all, our 53rd year concludes very satisfactorily! We wish you a great summer and hope to be in contact again at the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year.

About Alumni-Friends of CIC

Alumni-Friends of CIC was created during the 2001-2002 school year. Its first publication: “A Special Road to Education” which includes some history of the school and the country, as well as lovely photographs of the school grounds through the times, is available for purchase to all friends of CIC. There are over 700 CIC graduates, and many others who have studied, taught, or worked at CIC who still feel part of this special family - our mailing list includes almost 600 addresses!

The goals and mission of the Alumni-Friends of CIC are:

To unite all members of the school community, past, present, and future.
To increase the commitment and loyalty among its members.
To strengthen relationships between alumni, students, and staff of our school.
To provide information about the progress, achievements, and needs of our school.
To increase the participation of alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty, and staff in the activities of our school.
