NEW SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Mr. Eric Chicas will assume the position of Secondary School Principal next year at CIC. He presently teaches English at the Secondary School.
Prior to his arrival at CIC, Mr. Chicas spent five years at Escuela Internacional Sampedrana in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he taught English and served as Department Chair.
Mr. Chicas has a Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham State College in Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Buena Vista University, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, USA.
STUDENT CONTACT DAYS – MAKE-UP
Recently, the decision was made to extend the school day instead of holding Saturday classes. Parents have been informed via “eye contact” and on the CIC web page about this change. As a reminder, please be aware that from Monday, April 29 through Friday, June 7, the school day will be extended until 4:00 p.m. for secondary students. A fifth teaching block will be added to the end of each day – from 2:37 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This teaching/learning block will be as important as the other four blocks during the day.
Students will be released from class at 4:00 p.m. so parents are advised to arrive at school for pick-up, no earlier than 4:05 p.m.
ACCESS TO STUDENT GRADES/PERFORMANCE
Parents are encouraged to review, on a regular basis, performance results for their children on Skyward. This is a painless way in which parents can monitor their child’s progress from the comfort of their homes. Please take advantage of this technology, and if you have any questions about what you see, ask you child. Don’t hesitate to contact the teacher if you feel it necessary.
INKSLINGER
Please remember the Inkslinger is now in digital format only. Students receive a copy through their email addresses and it will be placed on the school website.
